About Siberian Huskies

Are Siberian Huskies good family dogs?

Siberian Huskies are affectionate, sociable, and generally wonderful with children and other dogs. They are a pack breed by nature and thrive on company. However, they are not the right breed for everyone — they are high energy, highly intelligent, and have a strong prey drive. They require significant exercise, mental stimulation, and a secure environment. We talk through all of this during the application process to ensure our puppies go to homes that truly understand the breed.

How much exercise does a Siberian Husky need?

Adult Siberian Huskies need a minimum of two hours of exercise per day, and many will happily do more. They were bred to run long distances in harsh conditions, so mental stimulation is just as important as physical exercise. Puppies should follow age-appropriate exercise guidelines to protect developing joints. Our Owning a Siberian Husky page covers this in more detail.

Do Siberian Huskies shed a lot?

Yes — Siberian Huskies have a dense double coat and shed year-round, with two heavy moults (known as “blowing coat”) each year. Regular brushing is essential. If shedding is a concern for you, a Husky may not be the right breed.

Can Siberian Huskies be left alone?

Siberian Huskies are a very social breed and do not cope well with long periods alone. They are not a dog that can be left for a full working day without consequence — boredom and separation anxiety can lead to destructive behaviour and excessive howling. This is one of the things we discuss carefully with all applicants.

Are Siberian Huskies easy to train?

Siberian Huskies are intelligent but independent — they will learn quickly but will only obey if they see a reason to. Positive reinforcement and consistency are key. They are not a breed for first-time dog owners unless that person is committed to learning about the breed and investing in training.

Do Siberian Huskies get on with other dogs?

Generally yes — Siberian Huskies are typically sociable with other dogs and many do better with a canine companion. However, they can have a high prey drive and may not be suitable with small animals such as cats or rabbits without very careful management.

About Our Puppies

How much do your puppies cost?

Please visit our Buying a Puppy page for full details on pricing, the application process, and what is included.

Are your puppies Kennel Club registered?

Yes. All our puppies are registered with the Kennel Club and come with a five-generation pedigree. Both parents are health tested — you can read more on our Health Testing page.

How do I get on your waiting list?

The first step is to fill in our Puppy Application. We review all applications carefully and will be in touch to arrange a meeting before any decisions are made. See our Buying a Puppy page for the full process.

Do you breed often?

We are a small, quality-focused kennel and do not breed frequently. We plan litters carefully around the health and readiness of our dogs. Our next planned litter is Goose x Cash 2026 — follow us on Facebook for updates.

What colour puppies do you produce?

The colours produced depend on the pairing. Siberian Huskies come in a wide range of colours and patterns. We can discuss expected colours from any planned litter once we know more about the specific pairing.

Can I choose my puppy?

We allocate puppies to families based on the best match — taking into account each puppy’s individual temperament and the lifestyle and home of each applicant. We believe this approach gives every puppy the best possible start in life, and we will always explain our reasoning.
